Darren Burgos’s New Project Chain of Lightning Drops Debut DIY Synth Album “Connections”

On our latest peek at the electronic music world we are checking out Connections, the debut album drop of Chain of Lightning. Chain of Lightning, is the latest project from the insanely talented Darren Burgos, a skilled savant in the world of electronic music. Darren Burgos is an esteemed figure in the realm of electronic music, boasting a rich history of artistic creation spanning several decades. Throughout his musical journey, Darren has explored various artist names and engaged in numerous collaborations, showcasing his versatility and boundless creative spirit. Recently, he has embarked on a new chapter in his career, having parted ways with long-term collaborator Dylan Willoughby, the talented artist behind Lost in Stars. This newfound freedom has allowed Darren to fully express himself without any constraints or obligations to others.
One of Darren’s notable contributions to the music industry lies in his expertise in Logic Pro, a renowned digital audio workstation. Considered one of the world’s leading authorities on this software, he has shared his knowledge with thousands of aspiring and established musicians, helping them hone their skills and produce music of exceptional quality. Over the past eight years, Darren has played a pivotal role in the creation and production of several releases for prominent artists such as Elena Charbila from Kid Moxie and Dylan Willoughby from Lost in Stars.
A remarkable collaboration between Darren and Dylan resulted in the 2017 album titled “Shattered Light” under the moniker Future Fire. Their combined efforts in writing and composing showcased their synergistic talents and further solidified their creative partnership. Darren’s musical endeavors are characterized by an innovative fusion of both hardware synthesizers and virtual instruments, creating a sophisticated and captivating blend of synth pop, synthwave, EDM, and pop music. Operating under the name Chance of Lightning, he deliberately defies conventional categorization, aiming to deliver a unique listening experience that transcends boundaries and pushes the boundaries of genre.

Chance of Lightning, the electronic/synth project led by renowned Logic Pro expert Darren Burgos, has released its debut album Connections, now available for streaming worldwide on all digital service platforms. The album explores the interconnectedness between individuals and the lengths we go to either nurture or sever those connections. With a blend of bouncy pop and new-wave beats, the songs cover a range of themes, from relationships drifting apart to using witchcraft to keep a reluctant lover close. The album’s dynamic nature is exemplified by standout tracks like “Interstellar (feat. Natalie Walker)” and “Out of Spite.” Drawing inspiration from the synth-pop music of the late 70s and early 80s, the album captures the essence of that era when groups of young musicians would come together, armed with synthesizers and drum machines, to create songs in unconventional ways.
