Conscious-Rocker Andrew Thomases Tackles Growing Up In The Suburbs, New Single “Suburban Void”

Our socially conscious rocker is back, this time hitting a bit too close to home for many. On our latest peek into the rock world we are checking out “Suburban Void”, the latest single from Andrew Thomases. An avid lifelong lover of music, Thomases grew up in New York City and watched as his father pursued his passion for bass guitar. Finally picking up his own guitar at the age of 12, Thomases would go on to play in multiple cover bands and perform as a DJ up until after college, when he decided to move across the country to San Francisco. Throughout the move and ever since, Thomases developed a version of “conscious rock”, where he created music that inspired his move, life experiences, and his outlook on the role of a person/human in society and the world. After spending much time in development, Thomases has written 10 fantastic tracks that explore a wide range of socially charged themes and is finally ready to show them to the rest of the world.

While rock music hasn’t been consistently in our rotation for quite some time now, we are always thrilled when Thomases drops by with another critique about life through another single. This time around, Thomases uses “Suburban Void” to relay his life and experiences growing up in the suburbs during the 80s and 90s, looking back at that period of his life with an introspective gaze. Thomases’s addictive guitar work and licks completely fit with the single’s more laid-back vibe, even incorporating an almost surf rock sound to complete the track’s unique aesthetic. Dabbling between punk and grunge, Thomases found his niche middle ground where he can explore topics on a smaller scale but at the same time lure us over with his pure style. We can’t wait to see what topic he tackles next, so we can have another bop to add into our rotation.
