Caroline Romano Releases New Single, “IDK These Days” | New EP Out February 21st

A self-proclaimed “loudest sort of introvert“, at a meager 19 years old Caroline has written her way into the alt-pop movement of this generation. Since dropping her initial single back in 2017, she already has a handful of singles under her belt and has racked up over a million streams online. This single follows her previously released “PDA of the Mainstream”, which marked her transition from indie bedroom pop over to the alternative pop-punk scene. We aren’t the only ones taking notice, as Caroline’s quick rise in the alt-pop world has garnered support from tastemakers like Hollywood Life, American Songwriter, and Just Jared.

“The song speaks to the fear that these emotions might linger longer than desired. It’s about the struggle of being honest when asked how you’re doing and admitting, ‘I don’t know these days.’ While these feelings are fleeting, in the moment, they feel all-consuming. This song is my way of confronting those emotions head-on, admitting them aloud, and finding solace in that admission.”

Nashville-based alt-pop artist Caroline Romano is gearing up for the release of her upcoming EP How The Good Girls Die on February 21st, previewing it with her raw and introspective single, “IDK These Days.” The track follows a series of successful releases like “Body Bag,” “Pretty Boys,” and “Born To Want More,” all of which will be included on the EP. “IDK These Days” stands out for its minimalist production, allowing Caroline’s heartfelt vocals and vulnerable lyrics to shine. The song captures the emotional turbulence of a period marked by anger and frustration, where even small, once-trivial things like snow and traffic feel overwhelming.

In reflecting on the song’s creation, Caroline shares that it emerged from a time of deep internal conflict, when everyday frustrations mirrored larger feelings of discontent. The track explores the unsettling experience of feeling stuck in a state of emotional regression, like being a middle schooler again, unsure and vulnerable. As the lead single for How The Good Girls Die, “IDK These Days” sets the tone for an EP filled with raw emotion, self-discovery, and introspective storytelling, further cementing Caroline Romano’s place in the alt-pop scene.
