“California Cool” Musician Goldie Vargas Teases Debut EP With Easy Breezy Pop Single “Canyon”
Sometimes you find yourself at a moment in your life where circumstances make the path you need to take clear. On our latest peek into the indie world we are checking out “Canyon”, the latest single from Goldie Vargas. While she has been in love with music as a medium for years as a California native, it wasn’t until recently that Vargas made the plunge and started transforming that passion into a career. Starting production on he debut EP over two years ago, Vargas is finally ready to take her interpretation of “California Cool” to the masses. With a singular goal of letting listeners “feel less alone” while listening to her music, Vargas will fully plunge into the breezy indie world later this month when she release her full debut EP.
“‘Canyon’ is about the personal conflict of missing the person you were with and the relationship you once had, but also missing the person you were before you met them. The entire song physically feels, to me at least, like you are running in a field towards yourself trying to get back to your roots. I find it incredibly empowering and self loving, despite being a break up song.”- Goldie Vargas
While our definition of “California Cool” might differ from Vargas’s mantra, we are thrilled to have an interesting lyricist join like her join the Modern Neon circle. While “Canyon” is our first introduction to Vargas’s style and approach to indie pop music, we are waiting in bated breath to see how Vargas expands beyond the “honest girl with a guitar” trope in the indie world. Blending elements of both chill minimal soundscapes and light breezy pop, Vargas generates the feeling of a “safe space” within her music. Comforting to listen to and easy listening on the brain, “Canyon” definitely has us excited for how Vargas grows as an artist after her debut EP is in the public eye.
