Bea Elmy Martin Shares Intimate New Single “Written On Me”
Bea Elmy Martin is quickly becoming a standout voice in the UK alternative scene, making music that feels deeply personal but still cinematic and expansive. Born and raised in London, she blends airy, ethereal vocals with moody electronics and subtle orchestral textures, creating songs that feel both intimate and atmospheric. Growing up listening to artists like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and Donny Hathaway, she developed a strong sense of emotional storytelling early on, and she’s carried that into her own writing, treating songwriting almost like a journal where she can process love, loss, and everything in between.
After her 2021 debut single “Blue Escape” gained early support from BBC tastemakers Jack Saunders and Lauren Laverne, she began a close creative partnership with producer Dominick J Goldsmith of HÆLOS. That collaboration has since grown into the world of Under The Yew, beginning with Vol. 1 in 2025 — a reflective, emotional project centered around healing and renewal. She’s continued that journey through Vol. 2, with tracks like “Lost,” “Born To Fly,” “Unscarred,” and “Anouk,” each one feeling like another step through the same emotional landscape, gradually building a quiet but powerful body of work about grief, growth, and acceptance.
“Written On Me” marks an intimate shift in Bea Elmy Martin’s ongoing Under The Yew project, turning its focus from grief and healing toward love, closeness, and the quiet ways two people can become deeply intertwined. Bea describes the song as arriving naturally and without pressure, saying it “fell out” during a home writing session sparked by a feeling she couldn’t shake.
