West Coast Bass Maestro Akriza Joins Forces With Mah Ze Tar For New Challenging Single “Where Are You, Now”
If you can satisfy our need for experimental bass music, we will enact stray dog mode and keep coming back for more. On our latest visit to Gravitas Recordings we are checking out “Where Are You, Now”, the latest drop from Akriza and Mah Ze Tar. Hailing from the mighty West Coast city of Portland, Oregon, Akriza is an aspiring world bass producer who is making his wide range of musical styles known to the masses. While world and bass music serves as the framework for Akriza’s sonic style, Akriza’s journey through the world of electronic music simply can’t be limited. While he may still just be early on in his career, Akriza has already performed internationally in Mexico and Guatemala, One Love Festival, and as the frontman of Wild Kingdom at sold-out Down the Rabbit Hole at Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon. Akriza dropped his debut album back in 2020 but caught our attention during the second stage in his elegant journey…Templo Sagrado. We’ve been on this ride ever since, with Akriza being one of our stand-out producers on this trip into the bass music world.
Mah Ze Tar is an active member of Balkan Bump and has collaborated with notable artists such as Desert Dwellers, David Starfire, Jef Scott, Morillo, Soohan, Akriza, Nyrus, and many others. Their performances include renowned events like Red Rocks, Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Gem & Jam, Joshua Tree, Lucidity, Symbiosis, Oregon Eclipse, Burning Man, and Haurzake Tokyo Festival. They also have upcoming shows scheduled, including the Folk & Forage Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, Joshua Tree Music Festival, Cervantes Masterpiece Denver, and Group Muse in San Francisco.

Akriza and Mah Ze Tar have collaborated on “Where You Are, Now”, a captivating single that piqued our interest right out of the gate. The song combines both artists’ unique sounds, creating an enchanting experience that immediately captivates listeners. Akriza is challenged to build out one of his well know surreal soundscapes by Mah Ze Tar, which creates an intriguing dynamic to an already experimental bass music single. With both Akriza and Mah Ze Tar being well-established figures in the music scene, known for their touring and production efforts, this collaboration is one that could only flourish with time. They have an upcoming collaboration album that promises to be extraordinary. While eagerly awaiting the album’s release, the artists are excited to share this remarkable single as a preview of what is to come.
