This week we plan to showcase some of the best raw young talents out right now. Keeping our weekend vibes flowing into the early morning we have “Light Me Up”, the latest from Raiden and Matisse & Sadko over on Protocol. Raiden has kept himself busy while developing his style and launching his career, with even traveling to Japan and performing in a rock band. This experience has affected his own personal style, as Raiden strives to combine EDM with rock. He even plays the guitar on a number of his tracks! All of these performers/producers are prime examples of the image that Protocol is striving for.
“Light Me Up” is straight up a festival song, that is the simplest way to put it. It feels like the track was crafted to showcase two different sides of the Protocol movement, focusing on the house sound we know from Matisse & Sadko as well as the expert production from Raiden. “Light Me Up” will immediately grab your attention with its surreal vocal work and energetic yet uplifting melody that will be sure to fill the dance floor. The track reminds us of the more extravagant days of EDM, but also will fit into this modern scene with ease.
The music video for this track is gorgeous (even if that is coming from a production standpoint). The video tries to showcase the feelings of tranquility that exist when growing up and living in a large metropolis. The seamless transition between black and white to color is what pushes the idea of tranquility, connecting it in our brains.
