While there are producers and talents that are essential to a niche or genre, there are those that influence an entire region on music. On our latest visit over to Wakaan we are checking out Is There Anybody Out There, the latest EP drop from An-Ten-Nae. Making his mark as an instrumental powerhouse on the United State’s West Coast, An-Ten-Nae has been molding the scene for many years. An-Ten-Nae gained recognition as the legendary music director for 1015 Folsom for over a decade, where he then hopped up to Portland and continued his momentum as the Creative Director of Portland’s premier new venue The North Warehouse, An-Ten-Nae even created the monumental Acid Crunk Compilations, which featured Griz, Opiuo and members of The Glitch Mob! An-Ten-Nae has his focus honed in on evolving his music, which has led to over 100 releases under his belt.

AS An-Ten-Nae and his style continue to grow and evolve, each project feels like the next stage in this evolution. Now entering the sonic stage, Is There Anybody Out There is an interesting 7 track EP that showcases An-Ten-Nae’s exploration of the space in full form. From the more ambient and experimental yet atmospheric beats of “Higher States of Consciousness” to the wub of “Shake The System” and the hard vocal bass of “Flip The Switch”, this EP runs the full gamut. The EP is honestly a true expression of An-Ten-Nae’s experiments with sound layering, in which he took plenty of extra time to fully expand upon what the medium had to offer to his project. Regardless of our opinion, if you are a fan of bass music and all of its chaos, Is There Anybody Out There will satisfy your craving for more bass. .
