I experimented with AI in all kinds of ways at the beginning of the album – building instrumentals, playing with visuals, asking philosophical questions, practical ones, even mixing advice. How much compression should I put on this kick drum? Which plugin should I use? What does a Virginia to Vegas song sound like from a machine’s perspective?” What he discovered through that process was not a replacement for his craft, but a new tool for expanding it. “AI, at least for now, is a tool. It gives creatives more swings, faster. Used thoughtfully, it can spark left-of-center ideas and broaden what music can be – not replace the humans behind it.”
