Sofia Carson & R3HAB Team Up In “I Luv U”, A Song of Unrequited Love
After his most recent dive into the pop world with “Flames”, seems like R3HAB has been bitten. On our first visit to Hollywood Records we had a chance to check out “I Luv U”, the latest pop bop from Sofia Carson and R3HAB. Since his adventure began, R3HAB has toured some of the best clubs in the world and amassed more than 300 million streams of his debut album. What is actually amazing however is that R3HAB was able to accomplish this with no major label backing, only working through his CYB3RPVNK imprint. Through his expanded efforts to increase CYB3RPVNK’s roster, R3HAB has been recruiting a fantastic variety of up and comers to provide a major range of music to his audience.
Even though R3HAB lured us in with his electronic stylings, his foray into pop has been interesting and addictive. While Sofia obviously takes the spotlight with her performance as a lover, not wishing to be in love with her current lover, R3HAB’s beats add to “I Luv U”‘s radio friendliness. Sofia’s voice is decadent and beautiful, almost sultry in the way she sings her feelings to listeners. R3HAB compliments her performance with his normal driving bassline, topped with a soft melody and a rhythm that feels organic upon listen. “I Luv U” feels genuine and real, telling a dark story of unrequited love perfect for our rain-filled holidays.
