R3HAB Joins Forces With Australia’s Amy Shark For Organic Laid Back Remake “Sway My Way”

When you are in a position to craft/produce a single to truly showcase a new facet of a well-known artist, you have to give it your all. On our latest visit over to CYB3RPVNK we are checking out “Sway My Way”, a brand new single from R3HAB and Amy Spark. R3HAB has toured some of the best clubs in the world and amassed more than 300 million streams of his debut album. What is actually amazing however is that R3HAB was able to accomplish this with no major label backing, only working through his CYB3RPVNK imprint. Through his expanded efforts to increase CYB3RPVNK’s roster, R3HAB has been recruiting a fantastic variety of up-and-comers to provide a major range of music to his audience.  With R3HAB consistently popping up on our radar, we have absolutely no idea what he is going to do next and can’t wait.

Every record reveals a new facet of the artist behind it. ‘Sway My Way‘ might surprise some listeners, as it’s got a more organic and stripped-back feel than many of my singles, but I love the dynamic it brings. Amy is an incredible artist and a pleasure to work with, and I’m so glad she helped me bring this song to life.” – R3HAB

I have a lot of family from New Zealand, so naturally I grew up loving Bic Runga, and her song ‘Sway‘ was one that I loved so much. When R3HAB asked me to join him and put my spin on the song, I jumped at it.” – Amy Shark

First off, can we say that we are thrilled to have been following R3HAB’s antics for this long? Every time we get an update from his camp, it is with a new artist that we can also add to our personal catalog. Keeping up with the current trend of re-polishing older singles with updated production, this latest drop from R3HAB’s camp is a beautifully modern rendition of Bic Runga’s 1997 hit “Sway”. Joining forces with Australian singer/songwriter Amy Shark, the production is a drastically different facet of both artists as they continue to expand their musical horizons. In order to give “Sway My Way” the proper tone and not completely ignore the original, R3HAB tosses aside his high-energy bouncy dance-pop signature sound and trades it in for a more laid-back and organic sound. We like this side of R3HAB, and we hope he explores it a bit more before we’re back at the big stage.
