R3HAB Blurs Genre Lines in New Remix of Shaggy & Steven Malcolm’s “Fuego”
We thought the R3HAB was taking a beat to revisit his roots, but we were misguided. Kicking off coverage for this week we are heading over to World Entertainment/Curb Records for R3HAB’s latest remix of Shaggy and Steven Malcolm’s “Fuego”.Romero is one of the modern producers to change and mold today’s electronic music scene how he sees fit. Not only has he founded one of the most prolific modern electronic music movements, but he is also constantly on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list year after year and has attributed heavily to the global spread of electronic music. Romero continues to surprise us, even dropping a mini-doc series back in 2019 and multiple successful releases now that he’s back on the wagon. Hell, he even put on one hell of a performance at the London opening of the Call of Duty League eSports tournament!
One of the most popular genre breakers in the current electronic community, there was no doubt that R3HAB had another genre in his crosshairs. R3HAB utilizes his “Fuego” remix to tinker with hip hop, reggae, and dance music and create an amalgamation of all three genres, perfectly fit for the R3HAB catalog. Ready to absolutely light your next party on fire, “Fuego” benefits from R3HAB’s grungy bassline paired with the familiar melodies and mannerisms of Shaggy’s vocal performance. R3HAB may set the tone, but all three of these artists elevate “Fuego” to booty-shaking levels of excitement. Regardless of where this pandemic has sequeltered you, make time to lift your spirits and press play.
