Pusher Releases Timely New Album “Stay-At-Home Popstar”, A Fun Look At Pushing Creativity!

Sometimes the world just falls in line with a core concept in your latest project and can even be a pure coincidance. On our latest peek into the music world we are checking out Stay-At-Home Popstar, the latest drop from Pusher. Created by Toronto native Martin Bernie, Pusher has quickly made a splash in today’s modern dance scene and only grows more upon each release. Don’t believe us? With over 50 million online streams under his belt, Pusher’s varied tastes attract listeners in droves and helps cultivate his growing community. He isn’t just receiving the love of the masses, as his career has already caught the attention of tastemakers such as Billboard, Paper Mag, Indie88 Stereogum, Complex, and YourEDM. Pusher’s eclectic music lead to multiple tours with The Chainsmokers, Zeds Dead, Phan-toms, and appearances on television shows like Broad City, Siesta Key, and The Ellen Show.

Stay-at-Home Popstar is a fun album for the collapse of civilization. The title originally referred to my own lack of touring, and how artists are forced to only see value in their stats – tour dates, streams, followers, playlists. This album is the product of focusing on my own artistic goals and craft rather than on trying to look like a marketable product by focusing on driving up those numbers.” – Pusher

Fun fact, despite the name of this latest album, Pusher actually created Stay-At-Home Popstar before the COVID-19 pandemic. While the album does explore the general collapse of civilization, we see Stay-At-Home Popstar as an analysis of the collapse of creative drive towards your own goals. As Pusher mentions above, so many of today’s artists lose their drive to be creative and explore new avenues once they lose themselves in the stats and pure data of how you are performing as an artist. Despite the heavy subject matter, Stay-At-Home Popstar is a rather fun album, exploring these subjects in a way that only Pusher can. Also, for the first time in his discography, all of Stay-At-Home Popstar consists of Pusher’s own songwriting and vocals plus a feature from Genevieve Artadi of Knower and contributions from several respected instrumentalists. Stay-At-Home Popstar is definitely worth the listen and we easily find itself on repeat throughout your week.
