Multi-Genre Producing Duo Digitalz Drop Powerful and Emotive Debut Single “Ritual”…Many More to Come!
When you catch the attention of an industry’s playmakers on your first major drop and have enough passion to see it through, you have to run with it. On our latest look at the indie world we have “Ritual”, the debut single of the talented duo Digitalz. Founded by a pair of Parisian friends with a passion for music, these two balanced their education while performing in clubs all around the city even back in high school. Learning that they had the creative drive to make a project, Digitalz was born and almost immediately hit the ground running. In 2018 the duo caught the eye of playmakers and industry movers such as Axwell, David Guetta, and Ingrosso when they dropped their remix of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”. With their remix being supported in huge festivals like Tomorrowland and Ultra Music Festival, Digitalz took that momentum to refine their sound and prepare for the official debut of their original work!
“The song is about the beginning of a story, it’s about a different way to make someone fall in love with you. It’s when you know something is inevitable, and the other person may try to fight it at first, but eventually falls into the trap. The “Ritual” is a euphemism of being in love, or actually making love. We took inspiration from the ‘Nirvana MTV unplugged’ iconic live for this dark/poetic song.” – Digitalz
One of the main reasons we enjoy looking into the indie scene so much is that we find that the most passionate artists exist in the pool, you just have to dig a little deeper. Their first official debut single off of their upcoming album (which will fully release later this year), “Ritual” is a perfect example of the Digitalz style and their varying influences. While the duo does use electronic music as a medium, they are on a mission to create a true multi-genre style that they can fully embrace. “Ritual” drives itself forward with epic big room synths, backed up by rock-inspired bass and drums that add a deeper level to the track, building up until it drops in a whirlwind of beautiful energy. Tapping the artist Thomas Daniel for vocals, his performance puts the final icing on the cake and matches Digitalz production with power and an abundance of emotion. While we may only have a few tastes of the Digitalz sound, we can’t wait for more drops as they continue to grow as artists.
