Leandro Da Silva Revisits Protocol With Dennis Beutler For Tech-House Single “Crazy Mistake”
Man, it definitely feels odd when an artist comes back to one of your go-to labels, yet they have been busy releasing elsewhere in the world…they basically went MIA in our eyes. On our latest visit over to Protocol Recordings we are checking out “Crazy Mistake”, the latest from Leandro Da Silva and Dennis Beutler. While he first popped on our radar in his previous visit with Protocol back in 2019, Da Silva has been incredibly busy adding his signature groove to any project he touches. With multiple releases on Big Beat/Atlantic Records, Warner Music, AFTR:HRS, Armada, Revealed, Hexagon, as well as a handful of popular remixes, Da Silva has been making his name prevalent in the tech-house community. Beutler might be new to Protocol, but he has released numerous hit singles on Ultra Records, Repopulate Mars, Glasgow Underground, Hood Politics Records, Stashed Music, and more!
While we don’t have that much of a frame of reference for Da Silva outside his collaboration with Moissiman on “Horizon”, we were hopeful for a necessary fresh dose of tech-house. Following perfectly in line with Protocol’s methodology for 2022, “Crazy Mistake” is exactly what we expected, an emotive vocal tech-house gem primed for the club. Deriving most of its features from the underground scene, Da Silva and Beutler utilize gitty yet minimal bass to set the tone straight out of the gate…you don’t want listeners to linger too long. The track overflows with groove and sultry vocal chops, owning their time under the spotlight but not hogging the light from the house-influenced beats and rolling synths. “Crazy Mistake” feels fresh yet familiar and we have no doubt that it will find a slot in your late-night EDM rotation sometime soon.
