KURA Revisits Protocol W/ Newcomer Vedenzo For Bouncy House Single “Thinking About You”
It’s intriguing to watch an artist as they strike out on their own, even if to come back to one of their milestone moments. On our latest visit to Protocol we are checking out “Thinking About You”, the latest single from KURA and Vedenzo. Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings has been a mover and a shaker in the modern electronic dance scene, allowing plenty of new artists to burst onto the scene and make their mark. While Protocol has been known for progressive house music, their catalog has expanded to encompass a wide diversity of sounds. Protocol is a major player every year at Miami Music Week, and despite not having the chance to perform this year, the label has other methods to put their overwhelmingly talented roster out on display. KURA has quickly become one of the most recognized DJs in today’s circuit with performances including Ultra Europe, Ultra Music Festival in Miami, and Tomorrowland just to name a few. KURA has also placed on DJMAG’s Top 100 DJ list in 2014, 2015, and his highest ranking at #39 in 2018!
Man, the last time we covered KURA was back when he dropped his first single on Protocol, which feels like eons have passed at this point. Taking a look at the latest single to come out of KURA’s camp, “Thinking About You” is another progressive house single from the Portuguese producer, this time alongside Russian newcomer Vedenzo. This single is primed and ready to completely tear up dancefloors worldwide, as KURA opens the single with a cinematic lens but quickly collapses it into a bouncy yet minimal bassline. While the minimal bass takes the lead, KURA and Vedenzo upgrade the line with upbeat synths to enhance the danceability of “Thinking About You”. If you are a fan of straight-up progressive house-driven EDM, then “Thinking About You” is probably already on your radar and your rotation.
