KSHMR Releases Self-Penned, Personal, and Powerful Single “Happy” Featuring Finnish Singer-Songwriter Tiina. Out Now on Dharma Worldwide

On our latest visit to Dharma Worldwide we are checking out “Happy”, the latest drop from KSHMR. Turning our attention to KSHMR, the talented California-based producer initially rose to prominence as part of the pop-rap duo, the Cataracs. During the early 2010s, the duo left an indelible mark by producing hits for notable artists such as Far East Movement, Dev, Snoop Dogg, and New Boyz. However, KSHMR’s insatiable creative drive led him to venture into the world of electronic dance music (EDM).

In 2014, KSHMR made a mesmerizing debut under his EDM alias, captivating audiences with his distinct sound and innovative productions. It was only in the following year that his true identity was unveiled, showcasing his commitment to letting his music speak for itself. KSHMR’s musical journey has been punctuated by a steady stream of singles that showcase his sonic prowess. Notably, he has collaborated with esteemed DJs like Tiësto, Hardwell, and R3HAB, further establishing his credibility within the EDM community.

I was excited to get back in the studio with Tiina after making ‘Do Bad Well‘ with her years ago. This time, I started us off with some chords in the Phrygian, which is darker and unusual for most dance songs. She began to sing melodies, and the song blossomed from there. The lyrics are about being numbed by trauma and emerging with a twisted sense of zen. I was very happy we could fit that interesting musicality and subject matter into a dance song.” – KSHMR

To me, the song is about using hard times as fuel and a source of power to get where you wanna go, even if you get lost on the way there. Also, there are always people who are ready to tear you down if you let them, and sometimes you just have to smile through it and not give them the satisfaction of seeing you crumble.” – Tiina

KSHMR, the Los Angeles-based Indian-American artist, has made a powerful return with his latest single “Happy,” a collaboration with Finnish singer Tiina. This emotionally charged track explores the journey from trauma to empowerment, blending Tiina’s soulful vocals with KSHMR’s intricate production. Drawing from personal experiences, KSHMR’s poignant lyrics resonate with listeners, offering a message of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. As he embarks on his North American tour and prepares for a mainstage performance at Ultra Music Festival, fans eagerly anticipate experiencing “Happy” live, knowing it will leave a lasting impression with its captivating melodies and heartfelt lyrics.
