KATiiE Debuts Dreamy New EP “Fallout”
KATiiE, a soulful musician from a small town in Oregon, has spent the past eight years honing her sound in Brooklyn, NY. Known for her calming, siren-like voice, she seamlessly blends indie-pop production with ethereal vocals, creating music that feels both intimate and otherworldly. Affectionately nicknamed “Lavender” by her friends, KATiiE exudes a serene yet enchanting energy that shines through her recordings and live performances.
A talented lyricist, she weaves vivid stories of love, life, and relationships with a playful wit and subtle sass that add depth to her work. Hands-on in her creative process, KATiiE crafts each song from the ground up in Ableton, experimenting with demos and synthesizers to build lush, dreamy soundscapes. With every track, she invites listeners into a personal yet universally relatable journey, offering music that is as soothing as it is captivating.
I started writing the first few songs on my EP, Fallout after a dramatic crash and burn of a 2 year situationship. Some songs were also written in the relationship that followed, so songs like Infrared and Two Ways were made as I explored that new relationship after healing from the previous one. Throughout the process of making this EP, each song has continued to mean something new to me over time. Sometimes there’s a more subconscious part of you that understands the truth about something before you consciously realize it. That subconscious voice speaks through songwriting, and I realized later on what I was trying to tell myself as I wrote those songs. When I think about this EP now, it means more about my relationship with myself than it does about any romantic relationship. Specifically, it’s the internal battle that happens when you realize you’re being neglected, or mistreated VS the part of you that believes in passion, love, and devotion. Being so attached and committed to someone, but at the same time knowing that you deserve better.
Brooklyn-based indie-pop artist KATiiE has released her new EP, Fallout, now available on all digital platforms. Following the dreamy lead single “Two Ways,” the four-track EP blends atmospheric production with poetic lyricism, making it a natural fit for fans of CHVRCHES and Lorde. Each song explores themes of recalibration, renewal, and personal rebirth, showcasing KATiiE’s ability to craft emotionally rich, immersive indie-pop that is both introspective and captivating.
Reflecting on the EP, KATiiE explains that the songs grew from personal experiences, including the end of a long-term situationship and the beginnings of a new relationship. Over time, the tracks evolved in meaning, revealing insights about her own growth and self-awareness. Fallout ultimately becomes a meditation on the tension between recognizing when you’re being mistreated and holding onto hope for love and connection—an intimate exploration of commitment, self-worth, and the journey toward healing and self-discovery.
