Booty-Grinding Bass is in the Air! Valentino Khan Drops New Bass House Track “Pony”
No, despite everything that it looks like, this is not an electronic country track. On our trek this week we are visiting Mad Decent for “Pony”, the latest track from Valentino Khan. Bursting onto the scene in 2014, Khan received almost immediate success with his first “In Khan We Trust” EP after being released on Skrillex’s OWSLA label. Khan quickly entranced listeners with his blend of hardstyle, trap, and heavy house that even led to his original track “Deep Down Low” being one of the most played track in 2015. While four years have passed, Khan has easily honed his skills as a remix master and we can’t see what he does next.
While this may be the season for pre-summer anthems, we still need plenty of booty-shaking bass house to keep the party from screeching to a halt. The first official single off of Kahn’s upcoming EP, “Pony” was crafted with the dancefloor center stage in mind. The track’s basslines are heavy-hitting and bouncy, with cheeky sound effects such as the clops of a horse trotting and clear influences from the days of garage house. We will not be surprised when “Pony” lights up dance floors this summer, especially with Khan’s growing success. While “Pony” is a follow up to January’s “Novocaine“, Khan even recently sold out a show at the Hollywood Palladium with special guests Shaquille O’Neal (DJ DIesel) and Snoop Dogg.
