Anna Shoemaker Drops First Single Of Upcoming Debut Album, “It’s Depression” With Middle Part
There are only a handful of artists that we have seen go through as much as a transformation as Anna Shoemaker. On today’s peek into the indie world we are checking out “It’s Depression”, the latest single to come out of the Anna Shoemaker camp. Anna found her initial break into the music world via her own Soundcloud mashup of Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe” and Chance the Rapper’s “Cocoa Butter Kisses”. Now with almost 900k streams online, the track caught the eye of fashion mogul Steve Madden, who recruited Anna to his label. While Anna received a dose of praise when she dropped her debut EP East Side in 2018, it wasn’t until her sophomore drop Everything is Embarrassing released earlier this year that she popped on our radar. Spending the rest of 2020 casually dropping various singles, we can’t wait to see where 2021 takes Anna’s career.

While we are always intrigued by the ever-changing indie music world, there have been very few artists that have caught our eye as Shoemaker has. Always experimenting and expanding her range as a musician, Shoemaker’s latest exploration into the a more indie-punk/indie-rock sound has quickly become some of her best material. “It’s Depression” is Shoemaker’s latest collaboration, this time joining Brooklyn artist Middle Part, who has been a mainstay on many of Shoemaker’s previous tracks and performs in her live band! If “It’s Depression” hasn’t won you over to the Shoemaker bandwagon just yet, the track is actually the first single off of her upcoming debut album, which you should expect to be out in Q1 of 2022. Can it be sooner? We can’t wait that long!
