Armin van Buuren and R3HAB Drop Empowering Debut Collab “Love We Lost,” Ft. Simon Ward

Now this is a collaboration that wasn’t even remotely on our radar, but we couldn’t be more thrilled. On our latest visit over to Armada we are checking out “Love We Lost”, the latest single from Armin van Buuren and R3HAB. Our personal introduction to the electronic world, Armin van Buuren has blessed the EDM community with his talent for over twenty years. Armin’s lifelong devotion to the genre has even snagged himself a Grammy nomination back in 2013 for “This is What It Feels Like” with Trevor Guthrie. Armin continues to mold the current EDM genre by co-founding the ever-popular Armada Music label and the weekly A State of Trance radio show to a 44 million and growing audience.

What I love so much about ‘Love We Lost‘ is the special message it holds. Narrated to perfection by Simon Ward, the lyrics tells us that some things are worth fighting for even if the odds are stacked against us. I’m super stoked to have produced this track in tandem with Fadil/R3HAB, as I think very highly of him. I hope everyone who listens to the record will feel as inspired as we did when we created this song.” – Armin van Buuren

I’m thrilled to share my long-anticipated collab with Armin van Buuren, a fellow Dutch industry leader I admire for his sonic footprint in the past decade.’Love We Lost‘ is exactly what I pictured when discussing this collaboration with Armin early on. I’m happy that we managed to blend both of our signature styles while incorporating Simon Ward‘s lion-hearted vocals. To me, it’s a record with resonating lyrics that share our message of only moving mountains for things in life that truly matter.” – R3HAB

R3HAB has toured some of the best clubs in the world and amassed more than 300 million streams of his debut album. What is actually amazing however is that R3HAB was able to accomplish this with no major label backing, only working through his CYB3RPVNK imprint. Through his expanded efforts to increase CYB3RPVNK’s roster, R3HAB has been recruiting a fantastic variety of up-and-comers to provide a major range of music to his audience.  With R3HAB consistently popping up on our radar, we have absolutely no idea what he is going to do next and can’t wait.

Well this collaboration is a bit of a blast from the past for us, as it features both our introduction to the world of EDM and the most consistent DJ in our current rotation. Easily one of the most catchy singles to come from these two premier Dutch producers, “Love We Lost” will easily serve as our springtime taste of the upcoming 2022 festival season. Incredibly moving and emotional, the track was designed to bring out the feeling of summer whilst giving listeners the strength to fight for the things they believe in. “Love We Lost” will have no problem reaching a global crowd, since there is a minimum of 50 million monthly listeners between these two producers. We might have to make the call here, as this Armin Van Buuren and R3HAB collab might be our favorite song of the year so far. Biases be damned.
