Ska Veterans The Planet Smashers Unveil Catchy New Single “Things You Do” || Stomp Records
The Planet Smashers, Montreal’s long-running ska-punk heroes, are celebrating over 30 years in the game with no signs of slowing down. Since their 1994 debut, they’ve become a cornerstone of the global ska scene with millions of streams, international tours, and a legacy cemented further by frontman Matt Collyer’s co-founding of Stomp Records. Their energetic, brass-driven sound and playful lyricism have kept fans skanking through every wave of the genre’s evolution.
Their tenth studio album, On the Dancefloor, is both a celebration and a reinvention—offering 13 tracks that range from protest anthems to love songs to rowdy party jams. It’s their most collaborative effort yet, featuring ska legends like Neville Staple (The Specials), Charley “Aitch” Bembridge (The Selecter), and Sara Johnston (Bran Van 3000), all of whom add depth without dulling the band’s high-energy edge. The Planet Smashers return with “Things You Do,” the second single from their upcoming album On the Dancefloor, arriving August 22 via Stomp Records. Out August 8 with a brand-new video, the track delivers everything fans love about the ska-punk veterans: infectious hooks, bold brass, and a bassline that grooves hard from start to finish.
