Emma Harner Releases Debut Album ‘Evening Star’

Harner first captured attention with a series of viral videos on Instagram and TikTok, quickly amassing a devoted following drawn to her virtuosic playing, harmonic sophistication, and emotionally resonant songwriting. Her intricate fingerstyle guitar work, often paired with introspective lyricism and a clear, affecting voice, struck a chord with audiences across platforms. In 2024, her debut single, “When You Mean It,” premiered as a Zane Lowe World First—an early industry co-sign that signaled her arrival as an artist to watch. The track showcased her ability to blend raw vulnerability with compositional nuance, setting the tone for what would become a fast-rising career.

Since then, Harner has built significant momentum, touring as direct support for Orla Gartland across her 2024 U.S. and 2025 European runs—introducing her to larger, genre-aligned audiences and further sharpening her live performance chops. She’s also opened for a carefully curated list of like-minded artists, including mxmtoon, Tiny Habits, and The Bygones, all known for their emotionally literate indie-pop leanings. With her debut EP arriving later this year, Harner is cementing her place as one of the most compelling young guitarists and storytellers of her generation—an artist capable of turning intimate thoughts into universally relatable anthems, and a musician with both the technical command and emotional depth to stand out in the crowded modern singer-songwriter landscape.

“Evening Star is an album about nostalgia, wishing, and everything else that has bothered my brain in the last couple years. Anyone following along on the writing journey for this album through the short clips I was posting will hopefully be happy to hear the fully realized versions of some of their favorites.”

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Emma Harner makes a striking embark into the spotlight with her album Evening Star, a collection of 11 tracks including the singles “Gale,” “Seams,” and “You’re Right.” The album highlights Harner’s signature style, blending intricate guitar work with emotionally direct songwriting that draws listeners into her introspective world. Every note is performed and written by Harner herself, giving the record a cohesive and deeply personal feel, where each song carries both sonic and emotional weight.

Produced by Grammy-nominated Jamie Mefford (Gregory Alan Isakov, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Jamestown Revival), Evening Star is elevated by textured, expansive production that enhances Harner’s vision without overshadowing it. Harner describes the album as “about nostalgia, wishing, and everything else that has bothered my brain in the last couple years,” offering fans a fully realized version of songs they may have glimpsed through her earlier writing clips. The result is a debut that is both intimate and resonant, establishing Harner as a singular voice in contemporary singer-songwriter music.
