CASANDRA UNVEILS NEW ALBUM ISLA TRANQUILITA, A DEEPER EXPLORATION OF CASANDRA’S WORLD
CASANDRA is a Miami-born, Los Angeles-based artist whose music exists at the intersection of vulnerability, escapism, and self-discovery. Her work functions as both a mirror and a sanctuary, offering listeners an intimate space where imagination, sensuality, healing, and personal freedom can coexist. Homeschooled for much of her childhood, she cultivated a rich inner world from an early age, finding comfort in creativity, introspection, and storytelling. That early connection to her imagination continues to inform her artistic identity, shaping songs that feel deeply personal while remaining open enough for others to find pieces of themselves within them.
Having released music since her teenage years, CASANDRA has spent nearly a decade steadily refining a voice that prioritizes emotional honesty and unapologetic self-expression. Across her body of work, she explores themes of love, longing, transformation, and reclaiming one’s sense of self, often pairing confessional lyricism with lush, immersive production. With ISLA TRANQUILITA, she takes another step forward in that evolution, crafting a project that feels both diaristic and cinematic. The release expands upon her ability to build vivid sonic environments, inviting listeners into a world that is at once deeply intimate and quietly transportive—a place where reflection, healing, and fantasy can momentarily blur into one.
ISLA TRANQUILITA, translating to “little island of peace,” is a deeply personal tribute to CASANDRA’s Cuban heritage and the lasting influence of her late great-aunt Teresa, whose comforting reminder to stay “tranquilita” during difficult moments became the emotional foundation of the album. Inspired by family memories, cultural identity, and the journey of reconnecting with her roots, the project creates a space where healing, self-discovery, and tradition exist side by side, turning personal history into a universal message of resilience and belonging.
Blending contemporary R&B with Cuban soul, alt-pop, and electronic influences, the bilingual album moves fluidly between English and Spanish as it explores themes of joy, grief, longing, and hope. Expanding on the original ISLA TRANQUILITA EP with seven new tracks—including “MUÑEQUITA,” “FELL FROM A TREE THEY SAID,” “HOURGLASS,” “BUENA SUERTA,” “SUMMON FIRE,” “RESERVED 4 ME,” and “TEARPROOF”—the full-length release further immerses listeners in CASANDRA’s rich sonic world, pairing lush, atmospheric production with intimate storytelling rooted in both her past and present.
