Raised on ’90s country music in Albuquerque and now based in New York City, he blends emotional storytelling with a DIY ethos and avant-garde visuals. His live shows are immersive and theatrical, often featuring collaborators like ballerinas, which have become a signature part of his performances.

“I quit my job and went straight to Montana with my manager – who’s also my best friend – and Aire Atlantica, somewhere none of us had ever been. We hit Best Buy, grabbed the biggest speakers we could find, then returned them after we finished the EP. Everything about emigrant Montana felt cowboy-coded: the rented F-150, the borrowed boots, dusty bar TVs flickering rodeos in the background while we made dance music. ‘all my exes live in brooklyn‘ riffs off the George Strait classic, a nod to the ’90s country I grew up on, even though most of my exes actually live in Manhattan – Brooklyn just sounded better. It was the first time I’ve worked with another producer, and it felt like Aire became part of the jigitz band for a moment. Viral producer and rising artist jigitz blends breakbeat, house, future garage, and ambient styles on his debut EP all my exes live in brooklyn, releasing July 25 via R&R. The eight-track project is a cinematic exploration of love, memory, and movement, opening with the dreamlike “leave” and featuring the viral hit “tell you straight,” which has amassed over 25 million streams and inspired numerous remixes by artists like Louis The Child and Ely Oaks. The EP shifts between sultry, bass-heavy tracks like “dollaz n dollaz” and introspective closers such as “free myself,” showcasing jigitz’s range and emotional depth.
Written during a reflective period in Montana with longtime collaborators Aire Atlantica and Faizan Malik, the EP feels deeply personal and immersive. To celebrate the release, jigitz will bring his signature theatrical, ballerina-infused performances on an extensive North American tour, including a stop at Lollapalooza, delivering dynamic live experiences that blur the line between music and visual art.
