Danny Miles of July Talk returns with a fierce new single, “All We Do Is Party!”, marking another bold shift in his ever-evolving sound following Beautiful Music and its remix companion, The Ruined Version. Known for collaborating with artists like Shad, Saukrates, Kevin Drew, Moka Only, and Aquakultre, Miles dives into a raw, dance-punk energy that channels the chaotic abandon of the indie sleaze era. The track evokes a basement party where Le Tigre meets Jay Reatard, blending reckless fun with carefully crafted musicality.
Originally conceived as an indie disco jam with a different bassline and beat, the track was reworked after Miles felt the initial vibe didn’t fit. He re-tracked live drums and rebuilt the instrumentation around his original vocals, turning the song into a maximalist, sweaty anthem. Percussion is a driving force, with tambourine, shaker, congas, wood block, and sleigh bells played by Miles himself, giving the song a visceral, hands-on energy that feels both chaotic and exhilarating.
Lyrically, the track leans into raw honesty, with standout lines like “Canker sore, chipped teeth and no benefit,” reflecting Miles’ unfiltered, lived-in approach. Originally part of a batch of unreleased songs, “All We Do Is Party!” is a celebration of creative freedom and unpredictability.
