Nicky Romero, Timmo Hendriks, & David Shane Kick Open 2021 With “Into The Light”
It was only a matter of time, as we knew that Romero would be back and kick down the 2021’s door. On our latest visit over to Protocol Recordings we were able to check out Romero’s first single of the new year “Into The Light”. Romero is one of the modern producers to change and mold today’s electronic music scene how he sees fit. Not only has he founded one of the most prolific modern electronic music movements, but he is also constantly on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list year after year and has attributed heavily to the global spread of electronic music. Romero continues to surprise us, even dropping a mini-doc series back in 2019 and multiple successful releases now that he’s back on the wagon. Hell, he even put on one hell of a performance at the London opening of the Call of Duty League eSports tournament!
Debuting on the label in 2016, Timmo collaborated with Lindequist on “Ziema” their best selling song to date These Dutch producers may just be up and comers, but they are making serious waves with their high energy production. Timmo will continue to support the main roster and you should keep him on your radar. The more Timmo graces us and his audience with banger tracks, the more we believe he deserves a nice permanent spotlight.
After the insanely chaotic year that was 2020, it is almost essential to go into 2021 with as much positive energy as possible. Romero’s first track of the year, “Into The Light” serves as a return to form for Romero as he revisits the progressive house sound we know and love. In order to craft this positive uplifting track, Romero recruited both Protocol’s Timmo Hendriks and vocalist David Shane to add on the finishing touches. While Romero’s signature sound screams loud and proud, “Into The Light” wouldn’t be the same without Hendriks and Shane. While Romero and Hendriks were busy carefully crafting the track’s piano-led melody, Shane provided the cherry on top with his surreal and uplifting vocal work. A strong effort out of Romero and the rest of the Protocol gang, easily making us excited for the rest of their 2021 catalog.
