The Feeling of a New Flame. BitFunk Releases “Getting Worse” Ft. Oktavian

We are going to have to start right out of the gate and applaud all artists that can fuse a solid balance of classic and modern sounds. Today we have one of those artists, who finds his home over on Physical Presents. Keeping away our Sunday blues we have “Getting Worse”, the latest track from MiR newcomer BitFunk. A rather new artist to the scene, this Brooklyn-based artist brings much of his musical influence from his early roots as a drummer. BitFunk made quite a splash with his first hit “Off the Ground”, even riding that popularity with the track’s music video. BitFunk has even already received the JUNO “Dance Recording of the Year” for 2017. That sure sets our expectations high BitFunk.

“BitFunk really found a perfect vibe in the track for the lyrics and melody, which was written about a relationship I had in school a few years back… we were trying hard not to fall but the chemistry was so heavy!I’m super stoked for the audience to feel that sort of connection with this song and for it to do great things!” – Oktavian on working with BitFunk

BitFunk’s latest track takes us to a common territory, yet he makes it feel personal. “Getting Worse” describes the feeling of love for a new flame just after being burned from a previous one, something that most people experience in their lifetime. The track showcases BitFunk’s style and flair of incorporating just the right amount of 1980’s into a modern dance ballad. Loosely based off of a relationship in Oktavian’s own life, his delivery on rather personal lyrics just add another layer to this visceral cake that is “Getting Worse”.  It’s no surprise to us how BitFunk won that JUNO.
