Nicky Romero and Timmy Trumpet Raise The BPMs in New Track “Falling”
A producer can dabble in the pop world, but they may lose their flair if they wade for too long in the pool. On our latest trip over to Protocol Recordings we checked out “Falling”, the latest drop from label boss Nicky Romero and Timmy Trumpet. Romero is one of the modern producers to change and mold today’s electronic music scene how he sees fit. Not only has he founded one of the most prolific modern electronic music movements, but he is also constantly on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list year after year and has attributed heavily to the global spread of electronic music. Romero continues to surprise us, even dropping a mini-doc series back in 2019 and multiple successful releases now that he’s back on the wagon. Hell, he even put one hell of a performance at the London opening of the Call of Duty League eSports tournament!
While we have enjoyed Romero’s venture into the pop world with his numerous crossovers, Romero still can take us back to his bread and butter. Romero utilizes “Falling” to show that even though he has grown as a producer, he can still craft a classic party starter. “Falling” opens with an enthusiastic vocal performance that soars to the skies right out of the gate. However, the track shines as Romero and Trumpet reach the crescendo, increasing the BPM to set the club scene on fire. While it isn’t near hardstyle levels, 138 BPM is exactly what we need to set the tone of our nightclubbing trek…or hell just going for a run. “Falling” is an absolutely fantastic addition to the Romero catalog and this is the style that we crave. Bump up the BPMs!
