Now that we are finally in the modern “Roarin’ Twenties”, we need to usher in the next nu-wave. On our most recent stop off at Protocol we were able to check out “I See”, the brand new drop from label boss Nicky Romero. Romero is one of the modern producers to change and mold today’s electronic music scene how he sees fit. Not only has he founded one of the most prolific modern electronic music movements, but he is also constantly on DJ Mag’s Top 100 list year after year and has attributed heavily to the global spread of electronic music. Romero continues to surprise us, even dropping a mini-doc series earlier this year and multiple successful releases now that he’s back on the wagon.
With plenty of hype leading up to Romero’s headlining performance at the inaugural Call of Duty tournament, we were surprised to have a new drop from the ever-busy label boss. In an effort to set the modern “Roarin’ Twenties” ablaze, Romero takes “I See” and embodies the feeling of big room club music in one sub 3 minute package. “I See” feel s larger than life, with each warbling synth and upbeat percussive note elevating the mood to new levels of excitement. Accompanied by a bassline that drives the track forward with every beat, “I See” has no problem setting the club stage for the rest of 2020′.
